I was told about this - visited some (admittedly) fairly right wing sites and yep, false positives with NO HINT of malware, just rather "right wing" material. Alas now it seems that their staff have decided to make political statements - so "politically incorrect" sites that are nonetheless TOTALLY clean of malware - are now given false positives. Used to be a truly excellent piece of software. Used to be excellent - now too many false positives. *To potential customers: For what it's worth, I did finally receive my refund, but if you'll look over the reviews you'll see that getting a refund from this company is like pulling teeth. Why would I buy yet ANOTHER subscription from a company that had already failed to honor its own promotion the first time? He even asked me to prove my claim of 50% off with a screenshot of your own advertisement. Edit : Your "support" agent offered me that link 10 days BEFORE he started the refund process. As someone who holds numerous cybersecurity certifications, I urge you to look absolutely ANYWHERE ELSE for your antivirus needs. It's already been a week and although they keep CLAIMING that they would be happy to issue me a refund, they have yet to actually do it no matter how many questions I answer. Their "customer service" department keeps asking me irrelevant questions that they claimed were necessary in order to provide me with a refund (probably in order to drag the process out beyond 30 days, in which case they would not have been obligated to refund my purchase). Malwarebytes offered me 50% off, but then charged me for the full amount. I still wont recommended them until they fix their billing system. UPDATE : After some support tickets and a few emails eventually the auto repeating billing was canceled, I still think that the setup that they have for account management is dishonest, it is a pity as their Software is actually quite good at protecting systems and removing mailware, though it does seem to have a lot of false positives. Malwarebytes is great until you try to opt out of the auto renew and cancel the subscription as they use a third party for payment processing they don't take any personal responsibility and you can not cancel the subscription on their website, creating a support issue they will direct you to their third party "Cleverbridge", while it says when you pay for it that it will auto renew it also says you can cancel any time via their account management which is simply a lie, they are not honest and for a software that is taking a position of trust, this is clearly software to be avoided until they change their dishonest billing behaviour. Malwarebytes wont stop charging your Credit Card ! I'm filing a complaint with the state Attorneys General for California. But something happened along the way and they got shady and vicious. I've been with MWB for years and in the beginning they were great. Ridiculous to think anyone keeps that stuff. I have absolutely no idea where I've even purchased these over years and certainly would not have any receipts or packaging of any kind. After a week and a half finally heard from a tech, who proceeded to tell me that if I didn't have a receipt or a picture of packaging, they would not provide any help. At this point I'm thinking the entire company has been hacked. Once again, there were unknown devices listed under some of my keys - but not same ones as previous. After a week, I was able to log in and sent in yet another ticket for help. There were multiple unknown devices listed under several of my keys. After several days of this I finally got in, to find that my Subscriptions page was not as I had left it. I tried repeatedly to log in and after entering my credentials the cursor would literally spin for hours until I cancelled the page. Had not had to log into account for some months and last time there my Manage Subscriptions page was all in order. I re-entered my license key/ID info and a message, "your item is blacklisted" appeared. Suddenly a license installed and successfully working on one device for a long time started displaying message "your trial has expired." It was never a trial so that was weird. They have all been installed on various of my devices, and I've deactivated them as devices were decommissioned, then used them on other devices. I own four license key/ID combos purchased over years from various sources - and I have no idea now where.
